WHAT IS WAXING?

Waxing is a hair removal method that removes hair from the root. Warm wax is applied to the skin, where it adheres to the hair. Once the wax cools and hardens, it is quickly removed, taking the hair out from the follicle for smoother, longer-lasting results.

DOES WAXING HURT?

Pain tolerance varies from person to person, but most people experience a brief, stinging sensation when the wax strip is removed. If you're concerned about sensitivity, taking an ibuprofen or aspirin about 30 minutes prior to your appointment can help reduce discomfort (be sure to consult with your physician before taking any medication). Over time, regular waxing can result in finer, sparser hair growth, making the process less painful with each session.

WHAT KIND OF WAX DO YOU USE?

We specialize in hard wax, which shrink wraps around the hair and hardens for a less painful removal, lifting hair from the follicle while minimizing skin irritation. However, if you prefer a more traditional soft wax, we also offer that option for your comfort!

HOW LONG DOES MY HAIR HAVE TO BE?

For effective waxing, hair should be at least ¼” to ½” long. This usually means waiting 2 to 4 weeks (at least 2 weeks) after your last shave. The longer you wait, the better the results, as hair will be fully grown and easier to remove.

CAN I GET WAXED IF I’M ON MY PERIOD?

Yes, you can still get waxed while on your period. However, increased hormone activity may make you more sensitive during this time. If you’re concerned about discomfort, it’s recommended to avoid waxing during the 3 days before and the first 3 days of your cycle for the best experience.

CAN I GET WAXED IF I’M PREGNANT?

Absolutely! We are experienced in making our pregnant clients feel as comfortable as possible during their waxing session. If you have any specific concerns or preferences, please don’t hesitate to let us know—we’re here to help!

WHAT SHOULD I DO FOR AFTERCARE?

Your skin may be sensitive after waxing, and any redness or irritation should subside within a few hours. To ensure the best results, avoid sun exposure, tanning, hot baths, hot tubs, heavy lotions, and exfoliation for 48 hours following your service.

HOW DO I PREVENT INGROWN HAIRS?

Ingrown hairs occur when hair grows back into the skin, causing inflammation. To help prevent this, gently exfoliate 2-3 times a week. We also offer a range of products designed to minimize the occurrence of ingrown hairs and keep your skin smooth and clear.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET WAXED?

The ideal waxing frequency depends on the area being waxed and your individual hair growth. However, for the best results, we generally recommend waxing every 4 weeks.
